Utah’s Paunsaugunt has been home to a lot of Mule deer “cactus bucks” with retained velvet, and misshaped antlers. The herd is currently in decline. The paunsaugunt plateau has been the site of some fairly extensive habitat alterations over the last 20 years as well. These cactus bucks are usually the result on endocrine disruption, and have occurred all over the West including WA, OR, CO, and AK.
